Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University Signs MoU with Mrityunjay Yoga for Academic Collaboration and Placement Opportunities
Raipur, 24th October 2024: Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University (SRU), Raipur, took a significant step toward strengthening academic-industry linkages by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mrityunjay Yoga, Raipur, a renowned institution dedicated to the practice and promotion of Yoga. The signing ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of SRU, Yoga Department HOD Dr. Kewal Ram, Dean of Arts Dr. Manish Pandey, and fac
ulty members Dr. Kaptan Singh and Mr. Ashish Deewan.
The MoU, which came into existence with the dedicated efforts of SRU’s TPO Mr. Shadab and the Yoga Department, aims to foster collaboration between SRU and Mrityunjay Yoga. This partnership focuses on academic cooperation, training programs, and creating placement opportunities for students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Yoga at SRU. It is aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, promoting holistic learning through practical exposure and skill development.
In his address, SRU’s Vice-Chancellor emphasized the importance of integrating traditional knowledge systems like Yoga into the university's curriculum to equip students with both academic excellence and practical expertise. He also highlighted the pivotal role of this collaboration in enhancing students' employability in the rapidly expanding wellness and fitness sector.
The signing authorities for the MoU were Dr. Saurabh Sharma, Registrar of Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University, and Dr. Manju Jha, Founder of Mrityunjay Yoga. Both expressed their enthusiasm for the collaborative initiative, which aims to create new pathways for the holistic development of students.
In addition to this significant collaboration, the university successfully organized a campus recruitment drive, where several students from the Yoga Department secured positions with leading wellness organizations. This marks yet another milestone in SRU’s commitment to providing quality education and real-world opportunities to its students.
The event saw active participation from the Yoga Department faculty, including Dr. Kewal Ram, Dr. Kaptan Singh, Mr. Ashish Deewan, and Dean of Arts Dr. Manish Pandey, who were present to witness the MoU signing and support the university’s vision of academic and professional excellence.
This MoU is expected to open up avenues for students to participate in internships, workshops, and professional training under the expert guidance of Mrityunjay Yoga, making them industry-ready.
