Today, on the occasion of World Cerebral Palsy Day at Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University, Chief Guest Dr. Chanan Goyal (Neuro Physiotherapist) and Dr. Ruchira Raj Pandey (Audiology Pathologist) as Chief Guests provided detailed information on the topic assistance for better lifestyle of persons wit

h cerebral palsy" through hybrid mode webinar. In this program, more than 100 students and teachers participated in the webinar through online and offline medium.

The program started with lighting of lamps and the state song, after which Chief Public Relations Officer Mr. Rajesh Tiwari and Registrar Dr. Saurabh Kumar Sharma of the University welcomed the guests on the stage and the keynote speakers of the webinar in the World Cerebral Day program and said that the main objective of this program is to increase awareness about cerebral palsy in the society. This is the first step for the university students to do social service along with education, which will help in improving the lifestyle of people with cerebral palsy in the coming years.

Neuro Physiotherapist Dr. Chanan Goyal told through the introduction of cerebral palsy and physiotherapy that cerebral palsy is not a single disease but a group of disorders. In which a disorder is found in the brain. This disease is mostly found in children. This disorder can be transmitted from mother's body to child even before birth due to old age of mother, intake of improper medicines, any type of infection, and use of alcohol. And if a child is born prematurely, then this disease can also be seen in him.

Dr. Goyal also shared some red flags for this disease such as - the child's inability to hold the neck at 4 months, the child's inability to sit at 8 months, the child's inability to stand at the age of one year and the child's inability to walk by one and a half years can be symptoms of this disease.

Then, other key speakers of the webinar provided detailed information about the program, in which, Audiology Pathologist Dr. Ruchira Raj Pandey explained how language aspects affect children with cerebral palsy and how we can solve this type of problem through speech therapy. Dr. Anubhuti Koshle, Dean, Faculty of Science, provided a brief information about the role of nutrition for children with cerebral palsy.

On Cerebral Palsy, Dr. Lukesh Kumar Bhuyar spoke about the role of technology for children and how we can make them independent using assistive technology. Mrs. Preeti K. Mishra spoke about what causes cerebral palsy and how we can intervene by identifying it at an early age.

Program Coordinator, Special Education Department Assistant Professor Trapti Saraswat presented the program's objectives to break stereotypes and sigma, improve health care and education, enhance quality of life in detail to everyone in the auditorium and told that the rate of this cerebral palsy is 17 million worldwide, they need support, inclusion, understanding.
