Two days Martial Art training program was organised at SRU…

The Rising Popularity of Martial Arts:  A Blend of Tradition, Fitness, Discipline, Girls and Women…

In Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University two days martial arts training program for female students from 27th to 28th September 2024 was organised by Master Trainer Mr. Mritunjaya Sahu and his team from Nirbhaya Atmaraksha Martial Arts and Karate Training Sansthan, Raipur in which more than 100 students actively participated in this self-defence training program.

On 27 September, inaugural

session was graced by the  Honourable Vice-Chancellor Prof. S.K.Singh, the Registrar, Dr. Saurabh Kumar Sharma, and the Dean of Faculty of Arts Prof. Manish Kumar Pandey and all the faculty members of the Faculty of Arts , student and participants were present during the inauguration of the training program.

The Honourable Vice-Chancellor highlighted the crucial role of self-defence techniques in present-day society, providing safety to girls and women. He expressed his deep appreciation for organizing this program at the university, comparing this effort to women's empowerment. The Registrar of the university emphasized various aspects of the self-defence program, focusing on how this program will enhance the capacity of female students in the direction of physical fitness, mental health, and spiritual growth. In his address, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts emphasized the importance of students’ self-confidence in combating physical attacks, and how Martial Art techniques will help the girl students ensure their security and safety.
  
The training program was coordinated by Dr. Archana R. Tupat, Department of Sociology, under the Faculty of Arts as well as Dr. Anjalee Yadav, Dr. Chitra Pandey, Ms. Samprity Bhattacharya, Dr. Sujata Ghosh, Ms. Sadhna Dewangan, Dr. Pushpa Bharti, Dr. Naresh Gautam, Dr. Payal, Dr. Sunita Sonwani, Mr. Shishir Chhattar, Dr. Ambuj Shukla, Dr. Malti Bag and others were present at the event to acknowledging their valuable contribution and support in making this event successful.
