Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University celebrated World Pharmacists Day with a three-day event from September 25 to September 27, organized by the Department of Pharmacy. This year's global theme, “Pharmacists: Meeting Global Health Needs,” aimed to highlight the vital role pharmacists play in the healthcare system and to raise awareness among students and the community about their c
ontributions to health and wellness. The celebration fostered engagement and understanding of the importance of pharmacy in addressing global health challenges.
The first day of the event starts with a Pharmacy Awareness Rally and a Swearing Ceremony on the university campus. This was followed by a series of competitive activities, including Scientific Poster Presentations, Debates, Extempore Speeches, and Quiz Competitions. These events highlighted the knowledge and creativity of the students, encouraging them to explore various dimensions of pharmacy and healthcare while fostering a spirit of healthy competition and collaboration.
The second day of the event featured a Rangoli-making competition and Scientific Working Model Presentations, showcasing both creativity and innovation. This was followed by a vibrant cultural program where students performed solo and group dances, highlighting the diversity and enthusiasm of the university's student body. These performances provided a platform for artistic expression and fostered camaraderie among participants, creating a joyful and inclusive atmosphere.
The final day of the celebration featured distinguished speakers, including Chief Guest Dr. Preeti K. Suresh, Director, MHRDC, Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla University, and Special Guest Dr. Tripti Jain, Assistant Drug Controller of Raipur CG. They shared valuable insights on the event's theme, discussing the evolving role of pharmacists in addressing global health needs. Their addresses emphasized the crucial importance of pharmacists in ensuring quality healthcare delivery worldwide, inspiring students and attendees to appreciate the impact of their profession.
During the closing ceremony, outstanding students were recognized for their academic achievements and dedication. Eight class toppers and four students with the highest attendance were honored by the guests, along with the winners of various competitions held throughout the event. This recognition celebrated the hard work and commitment of the students, inspiring them to continue striving for excellence in their studies and contributions to the pharmacy field.
And the varsity Vice Chancellor Prof. S. K. Singh highlighted the importance of the WHO's vision for good health by 2030. Registrar Dr. Saurabh Kumar Sharma noted India's historical significance as a repository of traditional medicines. The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks from Prof. Vijay Kumar Singh, principal of the Pharmacy Department, expressing gratitude to the guests, participants, and organizers for their contributions.
