In the third convocation ceremony of Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University, 18 outstanding students of the university were awarded Chancellor's Gold Medal, 56 research scholars and 1440 students were awarded degrees on completion of their courses. In the dig
nified presence of the honorable Chancellor of the University and the honorable Governor of Chhattisgarh, Shri Ramen Deka, the degree recipients, researchers, teachers and dignitaries looked overwhelmed in the third convocation ceremony of Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University.
The ceremony started with the convocation procession, in which the Registrar of the University, Heads of various departments, members of the Academic Council, Management Board and Governing Body, various Deans, Vice Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor, Honorable Chancellor and Honorable Governor along with other dignitaries were present. Thereafter, the Honorable Governor inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp and granting permission to inaugurate the convocation.
Vice Chancellor of the University S.K. Singh presented the annual report of the University with the welcome address and the oath was administered to the graduates by Pro-Chancellor Mr. Harsh Gautam. Honorable Governor Ramen Deka honored 18 outstanding students of the University by awarding them the Chancellor's Gold Medal and honored Mr. Prahlad Singh Tipanya Padma Shri famous folk singer (Kabir Bhajan) and Dr. Surendra Dubey, Padma Shri former Secretary, Official Language Commission Chhattisgarh with the standard degree. All other students were awarded degrees by the guests seated on the stage.
Honorable Chancellor Anant Vibhushit Shri Ravi Shankar Ji Maharaj encouraged the students of the University and said that our country and society is waiting for young leaders like you. All of you have immense potential to bring change in the society. Use your knowledge not only for your personal development but also for the welfare of the society and the nation. Remember true education is not only in books, it is found in every sphere of life. So never stop the process of learning, be curious, ask questions and be open to new ideas. Wishing you all a bright future, I once again congratulate you all. I hope you will realize your dreams and bring glory to your parents, teachers and this University.
Honorable Governor Raman Deka in his address said that this day of convocation marks the completion of an important phase of your life. All of you have worked hard to gain knowledge in your core subject, gain insight and imbibe values. This is a day of satisfaction for the parents of many of you. Who have invested their hard-earned money in educating you. I am confident that more than degrees, the knowledge and values you have acquired here will take you on the path of good fortune.
The Honorable Governor also praised the teachers, faculty members and research directors of the university and said that you worked hard to provide quality education for knowledge creation and to give a certain direction to the thinking and attitude of the students. He also inspired the youth that only through innovation, research and development can we bring positive change in the society and solve many of its problems including poverty, disease, unemployment and hunger. As graduates of this university, you have the responsibility to bring about social change by using the knowledge of science, social sciences, humanities, law and other subjects.
Chancellor of TISS Mumbai and former Chairman of UGC Prof. D.P. Singh, on the occasion of the convocation, praised the objectives of the Chairman of Lok Kalyan Trust Anant Vibhushit Shri Ravi Shankar Ji Maharaj, from the incomparable first step in the field of service, education and health to the establishment of various grand institutions.
University Registrar Dr. Saurabh Kumar Sharma expressed his gratitude. The convocation ceremony ended with the singing of the national anthem and the resumption of the convocation procession.
