Our College Botany lab is well equipped for undergraduate and postgraduate students to perform various botany practicals which are necessary for the study of the structure, properties, and biochemical processes of all forms of plant life, as well as plant classification, plant diseases, and the interactions of plants with their physical environment. The laboratory is spacious, well ventilated and are equipped with the necessary instruments such as Dissecting microscopes, compound microscopes, spectrophotometer, colorimeter, centrifuge machine, heating mantle, air sampler, hygrometer, camera lucida, soxhlet apparatus, autoclave, microtome, respirometer, botanical charts and specimens.
This laboratory has all the necessary equipment for preparation of samples and standards for various analyses of liquid and solid samples. The laboratory houses traditional equipment including glassware, fume hoods, a muffle furnace, centrifuge, aggregate mill, and ovens. More specialized equipment includes a nitrogen gas purged desiccator and glove box to provide an inert atmosphere for the study of ASR (alkali silica reaction) gels, and other cementitious materials. Additionally, the lab is equipped with a particle size analyzer and equipment used to prepare fused beads for x-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis.
A microbiology laboratory is a laboratory devoted to the culturing, examination, and identification of microorganisms including bacteria, fungi, yeasts, etc. The microbiology laboratory has a crucial role in effective infection prevention and control (IPC). The isolation and characterization of microorganisms inflicting infections performed by the microbiology laboratory play two important functions.
DMA is proud to have a modern, sophisticated Physics Lab with latest state-of-the art facilities that equip the students to have a hands on experience. Student workstations allow multiple arrangements and combinations for laboratory work and group activities. The equipment ranges from the commonly found lens, magnet, beam balance, spring balance, glass prism to the advanced apparatus like voltmeter, ammeter and resistors and spectrometers to name a few. The laboratory is also equipped with specifically designed classroom within the lab with an interactive LCD projector that allows the teachers to incorporate the latest technology in their lessons to arouse the interest and curiosity of the students. Furthermore, the spacious physics lab is designed in a way to accommodate students comfortably.
The Zoology Laboratory provides the students with a suitable environment to develop a detailed understanding of the animal kingdom by exploring the physical, morphological and physiological characteristics of animals. The laboratory presents through its instruments an ideal place for undergraduate students to study the histology of various cells, tissues and organs.
